13th Annual Harvest Celebration & Farm Tour

Freedom Farm offers rides to young children during the Farm Tour
Friends of the Fields, created “To preserve and protect sustainable agriculture in Clallam County, Washington, ensuring the availability of local food and the quality of life that our rural setting provides,” celebrates its 10th Anniversary and the Harvest Season this year with the 13th Annual Harvest Celebration and Farm Tour. The start of the celebration – the signature 100-Mile Harvest Dinner & Silent Auction – was held on Sunday, September 27th in the Guy Cole Convention Center at Carrie Blake Park. The fabulous gourmet meal featured pork, potatoes, vegetables and salad greens, fruits, cheeses, wine, beer, coffee and other delicious ingredients locally grown and produced within 100 miles of Sequim.
This year’s Farm Tour takes place on Saturday, October 3rd, from 10am – 4pm. For $10 per carload you can visit all of the farms on the tour, and the Community Organic Gardens of Sequim. Proceeds benefit Friends of the Fields.
Farm Tour visitors can participate in a variety of fun events and learn from educational displays and demonstrations at the different farms. Many activities are geared towards children, such as horseback rides, safe encounters with various farm animals, scavenger hunts, face painting, and more. Farmers will answer questions, give tours and show what is involved in running their farms.
You can go at your own pace to the following eight farms:
- Lazy J Tree Farm, 225 Gehrke Road
- Freedom Farm, 493 Spring Road
