Thor Hanson at Port Angeles and Forks Libraries

This coming Friday, February 27, the North Olympic Library System will present author and naturalist Thor Hanson, speaking about his work with gorillas in Uganda.  Dr Hanson will speak at 12 noon at the Forks Branch Library and at 5 pm at the Port Angeles Main Library.  Dr Hanson served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Uganda, where he helped establish the mountain gorilla tourism program in Bwindi National Park.  He wrote a book about his experiences entitled The Impenetrable Forest: My Gorilla Years in Uganda.  Dr Hanson’s presentations will feature photos and stories from his book and a discussion with the audience.

Both programs are free and open to the public.  The Port Angeles Main Library is at 2210 South Peabody Street in Port Angeles, and the Forks Branch is at 171 South Forks Avenue in Forks.  For more information about this program, or the North Olympic Library System, please contact Library Director Paula Barnes at Director@nols.org or go to www.nols.org.
