Thanks for the fine article on the River Center, an important community resource. It is important to stress that the National Audubon Society no longer provides funds to the Center. The River Center needs the support of the community through volunteer and financial contributions. Visit the Center and Railroad Bridge and enjoy the setting, the displays and learn about what it offers.

Nice article. Marketing dollars are very often wasted–and it is tough for small business to sort through all the junk choices that net no return. The old advertising models are really not delivering the goods–and those sales guys don’t have a lot of incentive except to collect their commission. My company, Workmen’s Design, makes simple websites that allow owners to see real results–but even in cases where the website is a hit, it takes a while for the dollars to come back to the business. It’s a tough tough squeeze.

Nice review Chuck. Pretty much agrees with my experience with the Beta.

One thing to remember is that upgrading RAM used to be a major expense, but the price has dropped so much that upgrading to 2GB or more of RAM shouldn’t scare people away. And it really does run faster with more RAM.

You know the saying “I don’t know art, but I know what I like”? Well I like Susan’s still lifes. They are luminous, somehow, and you’ll find yourself glancing back to a painting again and again.
There are a lot of things going on in Sequim this weekend, and if you live in Port Angeles, you should take the Old Olympic Hwy route and make the short “detour” to Susan’s brand new studio. If you live in Sequim, her studio is well worth the visit.

What great advice, Eric, thanks for writing it! This is precisely what my husband and I do these days–enjoy meals and visits on a regular basis with his brother and wife and some wonderful friends. Rather than dwell on all that is wrong or bad in life, this is an opportunity for us to realize that life is good! It’s all just a matter of perspective.

For as long as I’ve know her, Susan Martin Spar seems to eat, sleep and breathe art. I first met Susan during her fantasy landscape phase many years ago and I am so pleased to see her work bloosom into the lush landscapes she now creates. I keep one of her small oils of a bouquet of daisies on my desk by the comuter so that I can admire it every day.
