General Motors Coming Out Strong

General Motors is coming out fighting, and it appears they are going to be stronger than ever with major restructuring. This is good news for General Motors customers, past, present, and future.  Chief Executive Fritz Henderson promises that the new GM will have fewer brands, fewer plants and fewer workers, and that the corporate culture at will evolve, enabling the company to be more nimble and more focused on beating its competitors.

Port Angeles’ own GM dealer, Ruddell Auto, is busy.  Howie Ruddell says, “business remains strong despite GM’s bankruptcy and a challenging economy overall.”   Service of existing customers’ vehicles continues as it always has.

This is good news for GM customers, but it’s also good news for Port Angeles.  Strong local businesses are what sustain our economy and our labor force.  Restructuring in this case for GM is a good thing.
